I really need help with that problem. For a while now, I have been experiencing some screen lags when doing random things. I mean that the lag occurs if I'm watching a video, text editing or simply moving mouse pointer all over the screen. This isn't a flash bug as it does the same thing on youtube using html5.
I've read a lot on the subject but I haven't been successful in my researches.
- I've monitored the FPS during half an hour and sometimes they lowered when a lag occurred and sometimes not.
- I also have an application to monitor heat in the GPU, CPU, hard drive etc. but everything is stable when the lag occurs.
- I also tried to change driver and even tried to test it on Windows but yet, no change. - I've also tried to unplug all my USB devices to see if it was some sort of power shortage in the mb but it didn't change anything.
For the config, vsync is disabled (lags occurred even if vsync was enabled). Softwares are all up to date, and I'm currently using the latest version of nvidia driver available in Ubuntu repositories.
My laptop specs are:
- Toshiba Satellite L770
- 8GB of RAM
- 1TB 5400rpm Toshiba HDD
- Nvidia Geforce GT 525M GPU with 1GB of VRAM.
The laptop was also recently cleaned of all dust.
