I have recently migrated to Ubuntu from Windows, and I need the "power beep", that beep that plays when the power is plugged or unplugged. I doesn't seem to be here, and I rely on it to know if I am getting power. So, pretty much, I have this guy's problem, but in reverse.

so what happens is you do sudo modprobe pcspkr and/or sudo modprobe snd_pcsp ? – fossfreedom Mar 1 at 22:41
@fossfreedom The first seems to do nothing, while the second produces the following: FATAL: Error inserting snd_pcsp (/lib/modules/3.5.0-17-generic/kernel/sound/drivers/pcsp/snd-pcsp.ko): Device or resource busy – user4882 Mar 1 at 23:14
