I had a weird problem just before.
My Nvidia driver seemingly wasn't loaded properly when I booted up my machine, as my resolution was completely messed up and even lsmod didn't ouput any nvidia module.
When I rebooted my machine however, everything worked normally again, resolution was ok and the nvidia module was loaded.
Since I don't want this to happen again, I would like to know what I can do to prevent that in the future or at least what possibilities I have to find out what went wrong.
