Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Due to google's new permission to access camera, video, mic without consent, I am looking for an alternative to the android OS. Is there a version of ubuntu compatible with my device?

Wouldn't it be better to look for a solution for those rather than changing the whole OS your device is meant to be running?, Ubuntu Desktop has an ARM version does it run natively on the Tab 2?, No. There are apps that you can use to chroot in an Ubuntu image and use it through VNC but you're still on Android. If you're thinking about using Ubuntu for Tablets/Phones/Touch/Whatever is it's name now, think again it's a developer preview unless you plan to develop, test and report issues don't use it. –  Uri Herrera Mar 1 '13 at 17:40
