So, I've finally managed to get Ubuntu 12.04 to run, but it's the Live version.
When I try to install it, when I get to the partition menu, it only recognizes the USB thumbdrive that Ubuntu is booting from.
I went back into Windows, and created a partition exclusively for it, and it's in the ext3 format, listed as a primary.
Upon booting back into the live version of Ubuntu, I can't get it to recognize anything but the USB stick.
CDROM is out of the question, because mine hasn't worked in a while.
I would really love to give this a shot, but it's so discouraging when I've been restarting my pc over and over again for the past four hours, in the hope that something I've changed will make it recognizable, and I can finally install and use it.
Any help or suggestions?
