I'm using a Samsung N150 netbook, I've tried manually mounting it using mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /mnt but it said it was the wrong fs type, even though I'm 100% sure it's Fat32.

Is that all cards or a specific card? I had had a problem with Olympus card once and hadn't realised Ubuntu weren't the problem until I tried to use a different one ;) –  catalesia Feb 28 '13 at 22:32
