My right Alt key doesn't do a thing. It's not acting like a metakey at all. I can hold it down and type normally. I expect the right Alt key to do what the left one does.

How can I fix this?

I have a Macbook Pro 5,3.

What behaviour do you expect from the metakey? – djeikyb Feb 14 '11 at 21:28

as an aside, to get the Caps Lock light working, remove package mouseemu. – A Student at a University Feb 24 '11 at 11:51
Is your keyboard set to the Mac kbd layout? (just checking) – Calixte Sep 9 '11 at 12:49
What problem are you having with xmodmap? I just tried this the other day, and it worked. – gecko May 16 '12 at 2:38
