I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on my Compaq laptop with the following network cards:

I'm finding that, through wireless, my laptop runs fine on the internet, but through the ethernet connection it's running horribly slow - taking upwards of 2 hours to download PDFs etc. Can anybody help with this? As an aside, I have the same problem when running windows vista on the machine, but to a much lesser extent; my main problem is with ubuntu.
Thanks in advance, Ross
