I have a laptop with Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit. It has an ATI Radeon HD 6770M graphics card.
If I run
glxgears as soon as I log in, I get a framerate of around 3900. But then, after about 30 seconds or so, the framerate drops to around 1200 and stays that way. Games are also affected.
I have tried all sorts of drivers, including 13.1, 12.11, etc. and have also reinstalled Ubuntu multiple times. I have even tried Ubuntu 12.04, and the problem still persists.
I have also tried using gnome-classic, but it still happened.
It didn't used to happen. It started recently. Maybe around a month ago? I did a complete reinstall of Ubuntu, so any installed software cannot be the problem.
Any help would be appreciated. If more information about my computer is required, I will be happy to provide it. I am new to linux, so please direct me if any terminal use is required.
