Using Windows XP Pro; after installation of 12.04.2 from disk wouldn't boot. Tried installing boot-repair with terminal, fail--locked directory; burned disk, ran boot-repair, now I get grub rescue.

This is my second go-round. First time same thing; fixed by booting into windows repair, fixed mbr, edited boot.ini, deleted ubuntu partitions; started into XP okay. Tried install again. Same problem.... Can anyone help?
