I have a Macbook 5.1 running Ubuntu 12.1.

It finds wifi networks, and I can connect at home to my wifi, but the one I've got at work it will just wont even appear. I can see other 15 SSID but no mine's.

Im now connected using wire.

Id really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Can you choose "Connect to a hidden network" (even if it is hidden) and type in the name of your network? – user68186 Feb 25 at 18:59
what happens when you type "iwlist [your wifi adapter] scanning"? In my case, it looks like "iwlist wlan0 scanning". You might want to run it a couple of times in a row. Do you see your network there? – Jim Feb 25 at 19:03
I've tried to, intrduced the WPA, but nothing happens. – LaMata Feb 25 at 19:04
@Jim: eth1 Interface doesn't support scanning. – LaMata Feb 25 at 19:04
Btw, why is it comming for me as eth1 instead of wlanX? Thanks! – LaMata Feb 25 at 19:33
