There is a setting to dim the screen when the computer is idle for a certain duration (link). What is the best way to prevent this behaviour when I am viewing a slideshow of images, using gnome image viewer (eog)?
Other than of course changing the setting before starting the slideshow, then turning it back afterwards. Another solutions is perhaps caffeine, and specifying the process eog in Automatic activation. Although, whenever you are viewing an image, this would disable any screen savers - whereas I am more interested in disabling the screen dim/screensaver whilst in slideshow mode. Is there a better solution?
I am running on Ubuntu 12.10 x64.
