On my "LiveUSB" stick, I want my normal user to have RW access to a particular folder on the USB.
I've implemented the idea shown in How to access HDD folder when booting from USB? (permission denied), and I've implemented Sharing Files Between Ubuntu Flash Drive and Windows. I'm trying to figure out something automatic, which is more convenient than sudo'ing nautilus, but not as crazily risky as making the entire root filesystem writable by my default user.
I'd like to leave the base usb stick and all the boot files read-only to the standard user but create a folder that the standard user can RW to. Of course, the USB stick is FAT formatted, so I don't think I can use standard permissions.
Any ideas? I already have persistence set up.
