I added the unity-2d ppa and installed it using the Software Center, then I logged in to the unity-2d desktop but I still see the traditional desktop. I have selected the "Unity 2D" session from the login screen list.

What should I do to get the unity-2d desktop?

When you logged in, before you typed in your password and clicked "Login," did you select Unity 2D from the Sessions list? – Jonathan Feb 12 '11 at 13:55

Unity 2d is very unfinished, this should probably be a bug report: askubuntu.com/questions/5121/how-do-i-report-a-bug – Jorge Castro Feb 12 '11 at 20:23

Make sure places, launcher, spread and panel are installed. Use Synaptic package manager it also appears to need a lot of libraries as well. – robin0800 Feb 12 '11 at 13:40
