hi I am trying to connect mysql server running on amazon linux instance but did not succeeded yet .
Scenario : i installed mysql server in amazon's ec2 instance . then I made following changes in /etc/mysql/my.cnf file .
bind-address = 0.0.0.0 #skip-external-locking
after restarting mysql I made follwoing changes on my database .
grant all on MyDB.* to newuser@'x.x.x.x' identified by 'mypsw'; flush privileges;
where x.x.x.x is the public IP of my client machine.
on the machine which is running mysql server I have given proper security group i.e. tcp only and added a rule to allow MYSQL from the inbound tab of security group.
I can make ssh connection using a private key to this amazon instance.
Question : I want to know is it possible to make a connection to mysql server using this key from any machine ?
