I had Ubuntu Server 12.04.1 LTS running fine on a dev box. The HD was removed from it and the partitions deleted (not my doing). I have reinstalled the HD in the original machine but I am unable to install to it. Whenever I try to boot from my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS DVD I get the following error:

ERROR: No boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed.

I have tried running Boot-Repair and here is the output but the output means very little to me.

I will be most grateful if anyone can help me get this resolved.

So the point is that you can boot from the LiveCD, isn't? If so, all the other information is not useful.. – Lucio Feb 18 at 22:54
Yes, I can boot from the LiveCD and it can see the HD but I am not able to boot from the installation CD. I have checked it in another machine and the inst CD seems fine. – nnichols Feb 18 at 22:59

Sorry @Lucio, I have updated my question. I have been able to boot from my LiveCD and run Boot-Repair but I cannot boot from my Ubuntu DVD. I will try burning another DVD in the morning just in case it's a disk issue. – nnichols Feb 18 at 23:21
Oh, now I understand. Thank you for the correction. And yes, you have to download it again and check this procedure. Have in mind account this things to burn it. Don't forget to tell us your results! – Lucio Feb 19 at 0:05
