I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 to my laptop, and am trying to install google chrome. However, I keep getting these "Unresolved Dependencies" errors. For example, when I try to install directly from the google chrome internet link and through the software manager, I get the following messages:

"Items cannot be installed or removed until package catalogue is repaired. Do you want to repair it now?" (To which I say repair)

Then: "Package dependencies cannot be resolved.

This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time."

I have also tried the approach here using get: http://www.liberiangeek.net/2011/12/install-google-chrome-using-apt-get-in-ubuntu-11-10-oneiric-ocelot/ But I get similar package dependencies issues.

Help? Thanks!

What happens when you simply run sudo apt-get update and then sudo apt-get upgrade? –  user25656 Feb 18 '13 at 14:53

And also sudo apt-get check –  user25656 Feb 18 '13 at 14:56
