After some updates my steam client doesn't work anymore.

When I try open it, an updating window appears but it never updates... after some minutes waiting a message windows appears saying:

Fatal Error: Stem needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again.

When I try open from terminal it show some lines:

Running Steam on ubuntu 12.10 32-bit STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(1360829788_client)

STEAM_RUNTIME has been set by the user to: /home/gustavoaraujo/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(1360829788_client)

I'm using Ubuntu 12.10

"Fatal Error: Stem needs to be online to update." Did you check what this error msg means? –  don.joey Feb 17 '13 at 18:41

My internet connection is great so I think it's a client issue. –  user132968 Feb 18 '13 at 18:45
