Everybody is talking about the new "Ubuntu OS for Smartphones" and that it can easily be ported to different hardware designs.
Well, from other porting activities it became clear that it is not impossible to port an OS to a Smartphone, but all the ports were missing important drivers for hardware accelerated video decoding and 3D acceleration, because all these drivers are closed source and only available under NDA from the chip producers.
So, what will be the situation for "Ubuntu OS for Smartphones"? Will it be any different or suffer from the same problems?
For my part I have been searching for a long time now for a Linux based operating system on ARM devices that make use of the full hardware potential and ideally with qt5 and qml.
