When my computer tries to boot from the CD/DVD ROM drive a message appears saying DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. When i follow these steps the message appears again after a blinking cursor. Is there any way i can fix this?

You probably did not create a bootable dvd. Perhaps you wrote the ISO itself to the disc and not the contents? Check the disc with your current OS and see if it mounts automatically. –  Rinzwind Feb 15 '13 at 19:22

And you should check the MD5SUM see help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM and wiki.ubuntu.com/BurningIsoHowto –  bodhi.zazen Feb 15 '13 at 19:47
