OK I have read quite a few posts and questions but I'm still not 100% sure. So if I'm ready to install ubuntu on a new laptop that ships with windows 8 pre installed, I can not use WUBI because it's most likely I will have UEFI replacing old BIOS.
Is it a good idea to try and install ubuntu on my existing windows 8 or will I end up messing things up? I also read an option which is create a partion first, then boot ubuntu from USB and choose to install "Alongside with windows". But I've also read this can screw windows up.
So can someone please tell me if there is a "safe way" to install ubuntu without messing up pre-installed windows 8?
