How to remap the F1-12 keys to require the Fn key + F1-12

Question

I recently bought a new laptop, and mapped the F10/11/12 keys to media controls so that I would be able to just press, say, F10 to mute the volume. However, I now cannot use the F10 key normally. Can I remap the F10 command to be called when I type Fn+F10 (Function key + F10) as I know many Windows machines do?
