So I installed Ubuntu at Ubuntu.com by using the install alongside Windows option. It installed with Wubi, and everything seemed to go fine. It told me to restart which I did. The screen never turned back on during the reboot. I then turned the PC off and on again and the monitor stayed off until eventually booting Windows. My best guess is that Windows is the default boot option that eventually kicks in with the bootloader. For some reason I think either my monitor or my graphics card aren't communicating with Grub. I uninstalled Ubuntu, but my bootloader still won't show up, so I'm guessing grub is still installed somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it and I need to get my Windows bootloader back. But I can't access my BIOS, so I don't know if I'll be able to boot from my USB stick to repair windows bootloader.
Ideally I would like to get grub working. I have the Ubuntu iso on a bootable stick. What are my options? How can I get my PC working, or at very least back to working with the windows bootloader.
The thing really annoying me is why Grub is blocking my monitor from turning on.
