Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I bought an ASUS zenbook UX31A.

I tried to install Ubuntu with the following Ubuntu version: ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso

I used Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.2.4 to copy it to my USB Stick.

But when I boot the Stick, it does only run until the menu, where I can choose if I want to Install or to run the live system. After choosing either option, the screen turns black and nothing else happens.

Perhaps this has something to do with the UEFI?

Can you tell me how to make it work?
