I am getting poor sound output when I connect headphones to my laptop. the output through the speaker is fine, though. the sound volume on connecting the headphones reduces drastically and the quality of the output also decreases. this issues is with both audio and video files. any help?

sorry for yelling :D. and sorry for pressing the panic button. turns out it was something wrong with my headphones. i tried them out on my Windows OS installed and had the same issue. nothing wrong with the sound drivers in Ubuntu. my bad :D – Aaron Vijayan Feb 3 at 20:57
