Think in BR-PT - I am Brazilian. When I decided to use Linux, since version 08.04, I never installed and used any Windows application. I can't compare bugs when almost everybody says, in Windows works well and in Ubuntu not. I'm happy for that.
Because my poor English, I prefer explain technical data. Laptop Acer 5315-2609. In gnome-control-center --overview keyboard, keyboard shortcut, Sound and media... When I press these keys nothing happened in 12.04.
Volume mute- Written = ÁudioMudo Diminuir Volume = AbaixarVolumeÁudio Aumentar volume = AumentarVolumeÁudio
In my old 11.04 version when i pressed these keys were written:
keycode 121 (keysym 0x1008ff12, XF86AudioMute) keycode 122 (keysym 0x1008ff11, XF86AudioLowerVolume) keycode 123 (keysym 0x1008ff13, XF86AudioRaiseVolume)
The indicators that i'm pressing these keys and how they were working not appear in 12.04, like in 11.04.
My other problem: The headphones work well in both channels, but in the built-in speakers don't: The left channel always has a distorted noise with lower volume. The right channel has a normal and clear sound. I am sound engineer and tried DVD- CD with musics and etc... before this the most imported thing is these keys and speaker working well. After this i will try and report all my doubts. I selected too, the alt+insert key to open the sound applet, and adjust what i needed to. Well these are my problems, if you have some solutions i'll be happy, and thanks for saved me from windows.
