I installed ubuntu 11.10 on a brand new HP Probook 4540s, all went fine but the wireless and the bluetooth don't work.

I only have access to wireless connection.

Thanks for your help!

What have you tried? Please use the search. Possible duplicates: Wireless not working - HP Probook 4540s, HP ProBook 4540s (C4Z14EA) problems with wireless. And please include the actual specific hardware information, e.g. lspci -nnk | grep -iEA3 "(wireless|network)" and lsusb. –  gertvdijk Feb 1 '13 at 21:28

And any specific reason to install an older version of Ubuntu? 11.10 has been superseded by two new stable releases and will be End-of-Life soon. Please try 12.10. –  gertvdijk Feb 1 '13 at 21:29

Or 12.04.2 that comes with the 12.10 kernel and should already be out - launchpad.net/ubuntu/+milestone/ubuntu-12.04.2 Also there are WiFi driver backports packages available in recent releases. –  LiveWireBT Feb 1 '13 at 22:21

@LiveWireBT 12.04.2 will not ship with 12.10 kernels by default - there will be installer (ISO) images with it, accompanying the regular ones. see the changelog. And it's nothing new - this kernel is available in 12.04 ever since 12.10 was out. –  gertvdijk Feb 2 '13 at 13:10

Now that you mention it, I think I remember reading about something like that, too. Thanks. –  LiveWireBT Feb 2 '13 at 15:24
