Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

I have an issue where an unresponsive browser tab leaves an imprint on the desktop even after all windows are minimized or closed. To add to the annoyance it stays on top of all the applications and blocks the view. I know I can get rid of that imprint if I log out and log back in. However, i am curious to know if there are any other ways of clearing the imprint from the desktop. I have tried doing a unity --replace & with no luck. Any ideas ? Below is a screenshot of what I am talking about. enter image description here

Is it only the browser and not any other program that does this? And from the shape of the tab it appears to be Chrome/Chromium. What happens with other browsers. –  user25656 Jan 30 '13 at 6:09
this has happened sporadically with a number of applications. i can remember firefox to the one of them. i did not notice that much earlier. –  Ubuntuser Jan 30 '13 at 13:22
This question should instead be filed as a bug report, and as such is off-topic, thanks! Instructions on filing a bug report are here. –  Jorge Castro Feb 8 '13 at 15:20
This is probably a chrome/chromium bug, so I would start reporting it there. –  Jorge Castro Feb 8 '13 at 15:20
