I have 2 chips of 4GB Ram on my PC and I Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit running. It is all up to date with the released Kernel verisons. When I boot my PC... it detects on 1 RAM chip and shows only 4 GB of ram, but a reboot solves the problem. Please help me solve the problem, as I have to reboot my system everytime I switch it on, before I can work.

Thanks.

Maybe run ̣metmtest to check the RAM DIMMS?. –  Uri Herrera Jan 28 '13 at 9:05
