I want to have ubuntu as my main system for DJing as a professional. So, i was wondering if programms like traktor or ableton can run on ubuntu via WINE as a stable solution. I want to have ubuntu and NOT ubuntu studio so is there any solution for my problem? I know about mixx but i think i want something more powerful like traktor. Also, what about the midi controllers and sound cards drivers? Thanks

If you want to play pro dj then why Ubuntu ? Why not MAC or Windows 8 ? Windows 8 is more friendly to dj playback. – Curious Apprentice Jan 27 at 22:42
I have tried once running Deckdance and Virtual Dj using Wine. The CPU load was tremendous. If you dont have Hi-Power CPU then wine is not a good idea. – Curious Apprentice Jan 27 at 22:43
