I have a little problem with USB (maybe drivers) in Ubuntu 12.10. I just surf on web and suddenly my external sound card stops working. When I connect USB stick in USB, system won't recognize it at all, but my mouse and keyboard still works. When I decide to restart PC to solve this problem, it says Gnome deamon not responds. Then the shutdown proccess takes more than 2 minutes. Normally it takes under 1 minute. I am new in Ubuntu. And I am sorry for my English, which is not very well ;]

lsusb? Does your soundcard still show up in yourSound preferences > Hardware? – donschoe Jan 27 at 17:35
