Windows 8 without secure boot - Dual Boot

I have a windows laptop which was upgraded from 7 to 8. Secure boot was not available during its upgrade.

Will this windows8 work as a dual boot or is there any special configuration required?

Edit: this is not UEFI. This was an upgrade on an existing windows 7 installation not a preinstalled windows8.

	Just try using a live disc. reboot with a live disc inserted. If it doesn't work than try the link stated in first comment. – czifro Jan 26 at 1:15

	then you should have no issue with creating a dual boot – czifro Jan 26 at 1:28
