I am using Ubuntu 12.04 (Desktop) and I primarily use 2 window managers currently (xmonad and the standard unity). In xmonad I need to launch nautilus with the --no-desktop option, but when I am using gnome/unity I do not want to use that option.

Is there a way I can conditionally specify that option? Perhaps use 2 different *.desktop files such that synapse (launcher in xmonad) defaults to one of the files and everything else defaults to the other file?
