I have been using 12.04 dual booting with Windows 7. I updated to 12.10 the other day, and it started having issues. Instead of showing the Ubuntu logo on the purple screen, it would just turn purple for a few minutes and then glitch out, showing garbled color. It then loaded Ubuntu, with my background, but at a much lower resolution. My icons were gone, I couldn't open the left side bar or top bar, and it only responded to the power button on the tower. I tried using recovery but got the same result. I used a USB with Ubuntu on it to salvage my files, then reinstalled it, formatting the position it was installed to. It installed fine, I got it set up, then after I left for a bit I came back to find it doing the same thing. This time though, I can log out using Ctrl Alt Del and can open terminal too. Any ideas how to proceed?
