Illegal instruction (core dumped)
I tried a couple of suggestions from the forums without any luck (apt-get update/upgrade) reinstall with apt-get etc...
Any suggestions?

Illegal instruction (core dumped)Clearly indicates this is a bug. A severe one. As per the FAQ, bugs are off-topic here and this should be reported on the Launchpad project instead (or find an existing report you can mark yourself affected to). For this reason, I've voted-to-close your question. – gertvdijk Jan 24 at 16:41
