I am brand new to Ubuntu. My laptop's switch that controls the onboard wireless adapter is broken in the off position so i have to use an external usb adapter for wireless connections.

I have been working on getting my adapter (model listed in title) to talk with the kernel, but can't seem to get any response. I did some work with ndiswrapper and the module mounted after hours of attempts but still the adapter would not turn on or read my wireless.

The instructions I found are confusing because I am not used to navigating the terminal and all of its commands.
