I am using
Ubuntu 10.04 on a
VirtualBox VM. I have compiled
Android Froyo Source code (2.2) on this machine and to make this compiled, I needed
Java-5 which I did and Android source code was compiled successfully.
But now I am facing another problem. I am not able to view
Window-> Preferences in Eclipse Indigo. I have tried following things:
1) Run Eclipse as root, install ADT Plugin online and restart Eclipse. 2) Run Eclipse as root, download ADT plugin manually and install them and restart Eclipse. 3) Right click on Java perspective icon and click on reset. 4) Rename .eclipse directory at /home/mohsin/ location.
Nothing worked. One of guy on StackOverlfow mentioned that giving path to
Installed JREs solved his problem.
Now my fear is that if I installed latest Java, compiling android source may get into trouble. Can we use both in parallel for different purposes like
Java-5 for compiling android and
