I want to create a package that will install some files in Ubuntu System.

Minimum requirement to create the package is that it should have GUI to accept input from user while installation like location to store the files etc.

How can I achieve this?

What kind of files? –  Eliah Kagan Jan 22 '13 at 7:34
Well, I would say this is what deb is for. Debian packages can have various level of user input, including using Gtk... I would not go for an alien installer messing around with my system and not using the deb format... See here debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-faq/ch-pkg_basics.en.html –  alci Jan 22 '13 at 7:56
I want to just copy files in location which is provided by user. Input for location is taken from Gtk+ programs. Here I am unable to integrate input taken from gtk programs. Also After this I want toset PATH variable for user. Any help is appriciated. –  Abhishek P Deshpande Jan 24 '13 at 12:05
