I recently did an update of Java and now when I do 'java -version' it shows

$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_11"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_11-b21)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 23.6-b04, mixed mode)

However, Mozilla firefox 18.0 still refuses to run java apps,giving a vulnerability warning, "Java(TM) Plug-in 1.7.0_11 is known to be vulnerable. Use with caution." and I'm forwarded to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p184

Any help on this, pls.

Regards.

Usually, it will let you just click on the info bar or the plugin container or something, and it will work. Be warned, however, that there have been some nasty security issues with Java lately - you might want to try the OpenJDK Iced Tea java plugin. sudo apt-get install icedtea-java7-plugin will get you the open-source Java plugin, which should be suitable for most everything. – JamesTheAwesomeDude Jan 30 at 1:31
