I am going to be setting up ubuntu tv in the near future, but I don't have all the hardware yet? Does anyone have good specs for for a good HTPC running ubuntu TV? I would like to make sure everything is compatible before I buy it (tuner, HDMI, remote, etc)

If you check their FAQ (wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuTV/Contributing#FAQ), you'll see that tuner/remote support is (as of June 2012) is likely not to exist yet. Are you sure you don't mean Mythbuntu, not Ubuntu TV? – Sergey Jan 21 at 5:35
Thanks I didn't know they will not support it. What other options would you suggest? – Wolfeste Jan 22 at 11:54
My impression is that Ubuntu TV is pretty much work in progress, they will support some tuners etc. eventually, but I'm not sure it is ready for real-world use yet. If you're building an HTPC now, I suggest to have a look at Mythbuntu. – Sergey Jan 22 at 13:08
