Possible Duplicate:
No facility exists in Update Manager (12.04) to upgrade to 12.10. Why?

I am unable to upgrade. Any tips or advice if I doing something wrong?

I believe in 12.04, by default it will only upgrade to the next long term release, which will be 14.04.

You have to go into the update settings and change the option from 'New Long Term Releases Only' to 'All New Upgrades'...or something to that effect.

Once you change the option, it will see 12.10.

Go to Dash > Software Sources

Go to Updates tab

Now go to last option which mentions Notify me of a new Ubuntu version and choose For any new version and click on Close button.
