I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 with an internal bluetooth adapter, and I can't seem make the native bluetooth manager work. It enables from the task bar, but when I pull up the bluetooth settings it's set to 'off', and when I turn it on the manager acts no different than if it were turned off. I already fixed this problem once on another installation of Ubuntu on this laptop, but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. Any ideas?

Are you experiencing any other problems with bluetooth, like the mouse not working? 12.10 seems to have some problems with the upowerd interfering with the mouse. I have noticed the task bar/bt setting get out of synch sometimes, file a bug? –  ubfan1 Jan 20 '13 at 6:41
