I've just replaced the Release Preview of Windows 8 with Ubuntu 12.10, and it now fails to boot. Installing it went find, no errors were reported, that I seen anyway. The PC in question is an Asus Eee PC X101CH. http://i.imgur.com/HKXnd8C.jpg That is displayed when I boot the laptop, and having left it over an hour, I was a little concerned. So, I reinstalled the OS. I'm getting the exact same results again. Final note: Ohman I have no idea what I'm doing help me.

There's something wrong with your graphics card configuration. You probably need to install drivers. Can you give us the make and model of your graphics card, or the make and model of your PC? EDIT: Never mind, just noticed you had posted your PC info. Thanks. –  searchfgold6789 Jan 20 '13 at 4:02
It seems that you are not the only one having trouble getting this netbook to work with ubuntu. There's a bug report from someone having the same issue as you: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/934956 See the very last comment though, it looks like it is possible to install Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS rather than 12.10, and then upgrade the kernel using this guide: upubuntu.com/2012/06/… –  searchfgold6789 Jan 20 '13 at 4:15
