I have my pc hooked up to my TV on cloned view in order to watch shows and play games etc. On my Windows installation, I had to invoke the registry command OverrideEDIDFlags to get my TV to accept input from the analog audio channel. (My TV has no option to select the preferred channel)
After installing Ubuntu, I was looking for a similar way to override or 'reset' a monitor or TV's EDID tag. I can switch drivers from analog to digital, but when doing this often constantly swtiching drivers isn't ideal. I have seen many xorg.conf threads, but the IgnoreEDID option doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone here have any suggestions?
If it's important, I use Ubuntu 12.04 and my video card is a GeForce GTX 660, with all the latest drivers installed.
