I had the driver installed and working (without it I was not able to get sounds through HDMI). Today something happened and the desktop zoomed in so that bars went out of the screen.

By disabling the driver, I was able to restore the full screen but no more audio :-(

I installed the driver back, and video zoomed in again.

I guess it's some conflict with some updates ubuntu installed automatically but I have no idea what to do to try fix it... What can I do?

activating back the driver prinscreen was not working(?) moreover i suspect it could also get the full screen instead of the portion i see on the monitor... in any case i got a ![picture](file:///C:/temp/IMG_3341.jpg) with my camera... well, it's embarrassing, I don't know how to post it – user110954 Jan 18 at 1:23
Installing and removing the proprietary driver (to take the picture) it happened to have the problem also with the driver removed. installing and removing it again (and rebooting each time) desktop fit again in the screen. – user110954 Jan 18 at 1:32
I also did an experiment switching HDMI on an other TV and with no proprietary driver I had original TV working fine and second one cropping image (less than on the first one with proprietary driver). – user110954 Jan 18 at 1:33
searching for "cropped desktop" i found this post link that shows what's happening to me... unfortunately the solutions seems not applicable to me – user110954 Jan 18 at 2:19
