My external hard drive is not working. It won't show up and it won't mount. I used lsusb and it said the hard drive exists but when I try to format it I get this error:
Error creating file system: Command-line mkfs.vfat -I -n Gabe Maiberger" "/dev/sdf" exited with non-zero exit status 1:stdout: mkfs.vfat 3.0.13 (30 Jun 2012) stderr: mkfs.vfat: failed whilst writing reserved sector (udisks-error-quark, 0)
When I try to mount I get this: mount: /dev/sdf: can't read superblock
sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdfand edit in results if you get anything meaningful out of it. – Call me V Jan 16 at 0:33
