I have a program running in cobol on a Ubuntu 9.10 server, both without the X enviroment only from the consule (tty1 -tty12) and telnet users using ALPHACOM V8 (windows terminal using LINUX emulator)
The programs runs perfectly and the display and Fn Functios (F1 to F12) works ok (on the Ubuntu 9.10 server)
I have just installed a new Ubuntu 12.10 server and copied the same configuracion to this new server and the display and Fn functions does not work properly.
I have just compared both emulations in the console and both are LINUX. The I compared de Funcions on both servers and are the same
Using a script to view the result of the scan code and both are the same (emulating LINUX)
I made a test changing the emulation to VT220 and the display was restored to the normal view (like it was on the Ubuntu 9.10) but i have a problem with the Functions Keys (F1-F12).
I have 2 solutions,
1st ) Modify the escape codes from the Ubuntu 12.10 server emulation VT220 with escape codes of the LINUX or SCOANSI
F1 ^[OP F1 ^[[M
F2 ^[OQ F2 ^[[N
F3 ^[OR F3 ^[[O
F4 ^[OS F4 ^[[P
F5 ^[[15~ F5 ^[[Q
F6 ^[[17~ F6 ^[[R
F7 ^[[18~ F7 ^[[S
F8 ^[[19~ F8 ^[[T
F9 ^[[20~ F9 ^[[U
F10 ^[[21~ F10 ^[[V
F11 ^[[23~ F11 ^[[W
F12 ^[[24~ F12 ^[[X
Any ideas why both server using the same configuration with the same emulator (LINUX) with the same KEYCODES in the Ubuntu 9.10 I can use fine and in the Ubuntu 12.10 the display is wrong and the Functions Keys does not make what the have to ??
