I just reformatted my drive and set it up so that I have 5 partitions and some free space for a future OS /.
Sda1 is 500Mb, ext4 and /boot I imagine this is only used at startup.
sda5 is 20Gb, ext4 and / I imagine this is the operating system and nuts and bolts but is any of my data being stored there?
sda6 is about 115Gb, ext4 and /home I imagine this is where the OS I'm using is putting my home folder and therefore all of my data?
sda7 is 4Gb, swap I believe this is just used like extra RAM?
The reason I'm asking is I just tried to copy about 20Gb of pictures onto my home folder and it said that there wasn't enough room. This has me questioning my understanding of the partitions.
