My screen went blank after I booted for the 3rd or fourth time into Ubuntu. I have installed it through WUBI and the first boot was perfect. I have checked and its not the brightness problem.

I have no option but to power off the laptop and then restart windows.

Please edit your question to indicate which version of MS Windows is being used. – vasa1 Jan 12 at 18:37
Please also indicate how you determined that it's not a brightness problem, whether you installed any graphics drivers, what your graphics card is, and whether there were any other problems when it did boot normally the first few times. – bcbc Jan 12 at 20:12
