Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

After routine system updates on Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop, my resolution appears to be much lower than it should be. The login screen gui, icons on my desktop, the mouse, and program windows are all very large.

Though I tried to play around with different settings, I could not solve this problem.

I have a NVIDIA GTC 690 for CUDA support on the Desktop Machine.

Yes, screenshots can be helpful sometimes. Feel free to post them. –  DaimyoKirby Jan 12 '13 at 6:52

If you find you cannot post a screenshot, put it on the web somewhere and post a link. (If you can't add a link to your question, comment with it.) We can edit screenshots into your question for you until the new user restrictions no longer prevent you from doing so. –  Eliah Kagan Jan 12 '13 at 6:54
